Foreword

By Party Leader, Peter Ngui

As we stand on the precipice of a new era, it is imperative that we recognize the urgent need for a political party that is truly committed to serve the people of Kenya as per article 73 of the constitution of Kenya. A party that is not merely a vehicle for personal ambition or political positions, but rather a catalyst for progressive transformative change.

Kenya Great Party (KGP) is born from a deep-seated belief in the power of the people. We believe that every Kenyan, regardless of their social or economic status, deserves a government that is transparent, accountable, and responsive to their needs.

Our manifesto is a blueprint for a better Kenya. It outlines our vision for a nation where corruption is eradicated, where social justice prevails, and where economic prosperity is shared by all. We are committed to implementing policies that address the root causes of poverty, inequality, and injustice in Kenya.

We invite you to join hands with us in this journey of building a great Kenya where all Kenyans will have a better life. Together we can make Kenya great.

KGP - KIZAZI KIPYA

Introduction

Kenya Great Party (KGP) is a political wave that is committed to transforming Kenya into a social and democratic nation in which all Kenyans have a better life. The Party's ideology is rooted in the principle of progressivism system, which recognizes that material conditions shape human behavior. We believe that only a revolution can end capitalism and establish socialism. KGP pursues this goal by participating in local protests, running candidates in elections and conducting political education. We also believe that by addressing the material needs of Kenyans, we can create a society where everyone has the opportunity to a better life.

KGP's manifesto is a blueprint for a better Kenya. It outlines the Party's vision for a nation where corruption is eradicated, where social justice prevails, and where economic prosperity is shared equally by all Kenyans. The Party is committed to implementing policies that address the root cause of inequality, injustice and poverty among Kenyans.

Economic Development & Growth

We aim to boost Kenya's economy through sustainable development and job creation. Our economic policies focus on:

Progressive Taxation

Implementing progressive taxation policies to reduce income inequality. In Kenya, the top 10% of income earners control 42% of the national income. We will ensure that wealth is more evenly distributed through fair tax systems.

Public Infrastructure Investment

Investing in public infrastructure such as roads, energy, and water supply to boost economic growth. According to the World Bank, each dollar invested in infrastructure can generate up to $3.21 in economic growth. Inadequate infrastructure currently costs Kenya approximately 5% of GDP annually.

Support for SMEs

Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) which make up about 97% of businesses in Kenya and contribute approximately 45% to GDP. We will provide financial support, tax incentives, training programs, and simplify regulatory processes to enable SME growth.

Economic Diversification

Promoting economic diversification to reduce dependency on a few sectors. In 2023, Kenya's GDP grew by 5.6% with notable growth across different sectors. We will continue to invest in agriculture, technology, innovation, and foreign direct investment to ensure sustainable economic development.

Innovation & Technology

Enhancing innovation policies and investing in STEM education to build a skilled workforce. Kenya ranks 96th in the Global Innovation Index 2024. We will invest in internet infrastructure, promote public-private partnerships, and provide financial support for startups to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.

Education for All

Ensuring quality education and skills training for every Kenyan citizen. Our education policies focus on:

STEM Education

Focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education to build a skilled workforce capable of driving innovation and economic growth. According to the World Bank, a 1% increase in the STEM workforce can boost GDP by 0.3%.

Civic Education

Expanding civic education programs nationwide in schools, communities, and through media. A survey by Afrobarometer found that only 45% of citizens feel well-informed about political processes. We will partner with educational institutions to integrate civic education into curriculum.

Vocational Training

Investing in vocational training and skills development to address unemployment. About 10% of youth are not in education, employment, or training. We will provide opportunities for skills development, apprenticeships, and job placements through programs like the Kenya Youth Employment and Opportunities.

Educational Infrastructure

Investing in educational infrastructure and ensuring equitable access to quality education across urban and rural areas. We will allocate resources to reduce regional disparities and improve educational outcomes for all Kenyans.

Healthcare Reform

Improving access to quality healthcare services across the nation. Our healthcare policies focus on:

Universal Healthcare Access

Ensuring universal access to quality healthcare services for all Kenyans. We will implement reforms to enhance the effectiveness and productivity of public health services, with studies showing that public service reforms can improve service delivery by up to 25%.

Healthcare Infrastructure

Investing in healthcare infrastructure including hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities across the country. We will allocate resources to ensure equitable access to healthcare services across urban and rural areas, reducing regional disparities by 35% annually.

Public Health Programs

Strengthening public health programs including disease prevention, maternal and child health, and health education. We will ensure that healthcare services are accessible, affordable, and of high quality for all Kenyans.

Environmental Conservation

Protecting Kenya's natural resources and promoting sustainable practices. Our environmental policies focus on:

Renewable Energy

Investing in renewable energy sources including hydro, geothermal, wind, and solar. In Kenya, renewable energy sources accounted for 78% of the total energy supply in 2021. We will continue to invest in renewable energy projects and provide incentives for private sector investment.

Sustainable Land Use

Implementing sustainable land use practices to minimize land degradation and soil erosion. Kenya's forest cover has been declining with only 7.2% of the land area covered by forests. We will implement large-scale reforestation programs and promote sustainable agricultural practices that can increase crop yields by up to 58%.

Climate Change

Addressing climate change through policies and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. With 70% of the Kenyan population employed in climate-sensitive sectors, we will develop and implement climate adaptation strategies to protect vulnerable communities and ecosystems.

Sustainable Agriculture

Promoting sustainable agriculture and food security. According to the World Food Programme, approximately 15% of the population is food insecure in Kenya. We will provide support and training to smallholder farmers, invest in infrastructure such as irrigation systems and storage facilities, and promote sustainable farming practices to improve food security.

Good Leadership & Accountable Government

Transparency and accountability are the bedrock of a fair and efficient governance system. Our governance policies include:

Strengthening Public Services

Establishing a one-stop-shop for citizen-centered public services. Annually, public sector inefficiencies cost the government approximately KSh 250 billion. We project 8% annual improvement in service delivery efficiency through targeted training, performance-based incentives, and digitization of services.

Public Financial Management

Strengthening public financial management systems to promote transparency and accountability. We aim for a 15% annual reduction in audit queries and a 20% improvement in budget execution rates through enhanced financial management systems and strict enforcement of regulations.

Leadership Integrity

Promoting full implementation of the Leadership and Integrity Act. Corruption costs the economy approximately 15% of GDP annually. We aim to reduce corruption cases by 10% annually through strict enforcement and enhanced public awareness campaigns.

E-Governance & Open Data

Enhancing e-governance systems and open data portals. We project a 30% annual increase in the usage of e-government services and a 35% annual increase in data downloads through expanding service offerings and improving online accessibility.

Social Equity

Reducing poverty and social inequality is a core commitment. Our social equity policies include:

Poverty Reduction

In 2021, the poverty rate in Kenya was 38.6%. We will develop and expand social programs, such as conditional cash transfers and food assistance, to address material disparities and support vulnerable populations. Research shows that targeted social programs can reduce poverty by up to 20%.

Social Cohesion

Promoting social cohesion and national unity. With around 42 ethnic groups in Kenya, we will facilitate dialogue among various ethnic communities, implement policies that promote national identity, and develop education programs that emphasize national unity. Research shows that community dialogue initiatives can reduce ethnic tensions by 30%.

Access to Public Services

Improving access to quality public services. According to Kenya National Bureau of Statistics, only 63% of the population has access to improved water sources. We will allocate resources to ensure equitable access to public services across urban and rural areas, reducing regional disparities by 35% annually.

Conclusion

The leadership of KGP pledge to serve the people of Kenya diligently and with humility. The party is dedicated to establish a social and democratic nation which all Kenyans will have a better life.

Together, we can make Kenya great. KGP - KIZAZI KIPYA!
